An Appnotist
Production
In the year 2015, a young
children's librarian named
Sally took an introductory web
design class as a part of her
quest for a degree in programming.
This is her story.
Our protagonist Sally, flawless
in every way, was assigned a
final project.
"Build a website about whatever,"
demanded the instructor.
So she built a website about
whatever.

Fire Notice
Look around now and choose the exit nearest to your seat. In the event of a fire, walk (do not run) to that exist. Do not try to beat your neighbor to the street.*

ABOUT THIS PRODUCTION The Librarian's Toolbox was the final project for an introductory web design class I took. Unlike the Diver's Cove assignment, it called for making a multi-page site with a functioning navigation, a form (somewhere), and a cohesive design. We got to pick what the site was about and so I chose what I knew: librarian stuff. (Fun fact! I am also a librarian!) The end product was a slightly-but-not-fully responsive site for a fictional suite of tools for librarians. In addition to a landing page, there is a products page, about page, contact page, and blog page (complete with fake blog posts!). I made the jumbotron image on the landing page in MS Paint (and redid it in Photoshop a few years later to sharpen it up a bit) and the logo in a free online logo generator. All the other images and textures were taken from free image sites.

Sponsors

The following sponsors have been made possible by this production:**
*Fire notices like these were commonly used on theatrical playbills and programs in the early 20th century. This particular one appears in almost identical form on a number of different Ziegfeld Follies theatrical playbills and is attributed to whichever local fire commissioner happened to be wandering by at a given moment (ok the wandering bit may or may not be true). This may have become a standard warning after a fire at Chicago's Iroquois Theater in 1903 claimed over 600 lives.
